I would but its a lot of extra work and I would imagine pretty suicidal The transit forum havent seen a BOB conversion before, all BOA (that has to do with the something called PATS and multiplex wiring apparently) basically I just need the transit Automatic prop (which I have sourced) the transit selector and linkage fabricate some engine mounts mount the Scorpio fuel pump in the tank Oh and install the entire Scorpio wiring loom Easy!!! Got three lovely Scorpio Electric seats in it too, hopefully can get the aircon and power steering working as well

the pas shouldn't be to much work, if the cossie's rack fits in the tranny you could have it speed sensitive to the tranny boys don't know the BOB's like us, and we all know the PATS and wiring aint the hardest bits to sort out id try with the manual, auto box might not be so good for tugging scorpios behind lol, you could always look at the 4x4 tranny for its box and bits? the trannys are easy to work on as the front comes off fairly easily, so you can just wheel the lump in place on a trolley funnily enough the other day i was talking to tons of fun (craig) about what i should do with the 2.9 out of my car once the 4ltr lump is in it, be both agreed a p100 BOB would be a bit of fun and soon kill us

The transit MT75 apparently needs an adaptor plate for the cologne and is too wide for the 24v manifolds which have to be extended outwards to give enough clearance....and so on and so on.. lol too much work for me, i'm quite happy with an auto The front doesnt come off on mine, some Ford guy has welded a dirty great front crossmember on it!!

Hi stuart. You do know that the earlier pinto engined transits had a beefier version of the type 9 -b gearbox ?. Much stronger than the sierra items . Mind you a transit with monster kickdown potential must be a sight to see . Yep it's true. Matt & i were talking about a BOB P100 !!! . Dont think my blood pressure could take that at the moment though & Matt needs to open a savings account for rear tyres & underpants, for when his 4.0ltr monster is finished

| Scorpio diff wont fit, Transit has a solid axle and the Scorpio crown wheel and pinion wont fit but it does have a 4.56 on it just now although I may have to upgrade the rear axle as I dont think they take too much abuse I think the F150 axle is looking like the way to go

I bought a new Transit 190 in 1980 with a 3lt V6 and overdrive, used to do about 500 miles a day delivering horticultural products nationwide. It averaged 19 mpg,but was a dream to drive and very relaxing and quiet. Those were the days GOZZ.

Och noo ! ah should be in the back a me ain hearse be now I bet that Tranny's dust now,and some of the later ones I've had ! The most disappointing one was the very last before the 2000 shape,I bought it as the new one came out because the look of it was in my eyes superior to the newfangled style,it had the legendary 2.5di with the higher diff as I only moved the deceased at that time,it had all the goodies but made such a chronic resonance that I could hear it and feel it in bed,in addition to which it did a princely 24mpg ! It went in to see Mr Ford twice but he declared it in fine fettle,I reckon the di was underpowered with the high diff, and needed a turbo.I subsequently borrowed a new 2lt turbo, filled it up with diesel and went to the south coast delivering and collecting bodies. On my return I had to pump out half a tank of Derv,it did 38mpg quietly and without fuss, what a contrast, needless to say I ordered one.My latest is a 330 with 2.4 turbo which makes light work of the trailer with a hearse on,and apart from the tacho is legal weightwise, but then,I'm not working for hire or reward ! GOZZ.

At least the plate is still alive and kicking ! I sold the van early in it's life due to the loss of a job it was doing,a man from Bourne,Lincs bought it to tow his catering kiosk which he built himself and which was 'over engineered' to say the least.I saw it in Whittlesey,Cambs some years later looking somewhat sorry for it's self in the hands of a building trade bloke, and proving that the Ziebart I had applied when it was new had little affect GOZZ.

Stuart, The auto will do a fine job in yr tranny even for towing, just fit the biggest extra oil cooler you can fit and it'll be fine. Also a really strong auto box can be built for the 24 valves using the guts out of a 4.0 litre explorer box. It has heavy duty sprags, gearsets, band servos and extra clutch plates in the drums A 2 litre scorp converter gets em off the line quicker with the tyres ablaze, due to its higher stall speed. This is exactly what I did to my Cossie estate when the box blew up last year, and it's wicked. Also for those building 4 litre Cossies, use a Explorer ECU and you'll get 5 speeds plus converter lock out of yr auto gearbox. The fuelling won't be too far out, lambdas might correct it enuf for the 24v heads, if not use adjustable pressure reg and it surely will Got some chassis welding to do this summer where the estates always rust, so will contact you nearer the time as I wanna fit a 2.3 diff while its all out so if you got a good 'un I'll be in the market lol Regards Dave
