I'm in the wrong job!

I can't believe how much dealers are charging for work these days. I can only assume that as they're not selling cars they're trying to make up for it by fixing them.
One of our work cars went in for service today. It's a 56 plate VW Touran 2.0 Tdi (170ps I think).
Starting the bill off is the 75k service (high I know but it is basically a repmobile) and health check at £230.00.

Not so bad I hear you cry but what about the "optional" extras that could have been added to the bill.

Replace windscreen (price not given although this would obviously be an insurance job)
Replace wipers (again price not given but you can just imagine how they would charge 2 or 3 times as much as a motor factors)
Change intercooler seals £66.00
Replace n/s C.V Boot £165.00
Replace cam belt (2nd time round and not due for another 4k) £418.00
Change air and fuel filter £280.00!!!!!!

Now I'm not a VW expert but even I can't fathom why the air and fuel filter are not part of the service anyway and how on earth do you get to £280.00 for the pleasure?
And C.V. Boot? £10 worth of rubber comes out at 16.5 times that to replace?
Perhaps the labour charge of £78 per hour plus vat has something to do with it but my god, am I in the wrong job or not?
Naturally I advised my company to decline the said work in favour of either employing myself or our local garage to do the work instead.
As the car is leased and finishes in October, would you bother with all the above? It still pulls like a train and is stupidly fast for a kiddie carrier but as our responsibility for its upkeep ends in just over 6 months would we be throwing good money away?

I just replaced my waterpump on my 7 series BMW it cost £315 for pump and viscous coupling less £30 returned for exchange unit. £15 for coolant and about 6 hours over 2 days to do the job.... They wanted £745 to do the same job with all the facilities they have at hand.
The cost of modern motering I'm afraid.... Huh
