Scorpio attracts police attention?

I was wondering if any other Scorpio drivers were or have been getting a lot of police attention? Every time I'm pulled over it's always for a random check, I'm wondering if Scorpio's are a car that attract police attention... I brought my Scorpio in December and since then I've been pulled over 4 times now but before that I went 7 years (driving life) with never being pulled over!!! Last week (last time I was pulled) I said to the officer "it must be this car, it's gotta be cursed, I was never pulled over until I got this car, so it's gotta be the car" and he just looked at me...lol

The Scorpio is old and cheap, just the kind of thing they look for I've heard them mention on Road Wars they look out for old Fords and Vauxhalls for the dodgy characters Maybe its been cloned? did they mention anything?

rich watch it m8 i've never been pulled over in my Scorp but Stuart might be right, old cars you can get for pennies are most likely to be driven by some dodgy characters, so this might be the case. or they are just afraid of the almighty Scorpio Mafia

If it happens again .. Ask the Officer nicely .. Why and explain why you are asking .. He might just tell you why .... Depends ... Worth a try though some of them are approachable ! Well they used to be !

sgt1983. Maybe they know your 'handle' and stop you for a fraternal chat Some years ago myself and two friends were stopped on Edgware Road for"a routine check sir". The officer asked the driver his name,"P.C.Judge" he replied, "oh are you a PC then sir","yes Phillip Charles Judge",the officer looked quite disappointed ! We were in a Wolseley 1500,before Scorpio was invented ! GOZZ.

not just scorpios , the wife bourght me an new STI scooby for a wedding prezzy (the bug eye one) had it less than 12hrs and got pulled for going round a roundabout twice because the exit i wanted was blocked by a police car, after that it was about twice a week. and most of the time i was in lounge suit, shirt and tie got pulled for a moving traffic offence whille stopped at traffic lights,by a copper on a motor bike who had spent 2 mins sat behind me with the line "we have had a report one of these has been stolen in wolverhampton".(was in birmingham at the time) made me empty the whole car on to the paverment , jack spare wheel ,glove box the lot. was there 30 min copper checked the vin engine number everthing. then said ok and drove off leaving me to put the car back together. when the wife got jacked in it the police were good , but the comment of if they had got it i doubt you would have seen it again is not what you want to hear. did ask the office why i paid £880 for tracker and subscription , he just shruged his shoulders and said because the insurance company said you had too. Always being stopped in the mx 6 (mx6 not the hair dressers mx 5)but that is because i have lead boots on when driving it and the car makes you drive fast, those of you who have driven one will know what i mean gaz

I don't know if any one rides a motorbike on here, but it seems to be par for the course to be pulled over for a routine check The last time i was stopped,it was because of the angle of my no plate! I was asked if I could bend it down more as the ANPR couldn't read it.I was a bit dubious about it,as the car that stopped me was a ford fiesta........

Never been pulled in any of mine until i added a Cosworth badge to the rear of the estate . Have been stopped twice since & both times were because when checked on the computer the description comes back as a Scorpio 24 valve & NOT a cossie (or so they say) . Personally i think these young coppers today have never seen a scorpio & are curious...Well thats my theory anyway

I was only ever stopped once in the Scorpio, and it wasn't for it being a tremendous lovely gorgeous Scorpio; it was because the copper had seen me pulling out of a pub car park. Fair enough. Kinda. He did a very thorough details check but I was lucky he didn't search the car; in the boot there was a fake handgun and a big wad of fake cash. My friend and I were dressed as gangsters. I had a perfectly legitimate reason for all of this but proving it would have been difficult. I was stopped in my first car a lot as it was old and left hand drive. Once they said "we thought it was either a really short guy in the driver's seat, or it's left-hand drive!" and I was looking up at them from the driver's seat trying desperately to think of an appropriate response. One time I was stopped with my brother in the passenger seat, had a tail light out. The cop came up to the passenger side (offside), my brother wound down his window. Cop: "Excuse me sir, how are you this evening?" Brother: "Hi.. yeah very well thank you" - "have you been drinking, sir?" - "yes, I have had quite a few" - "Right. Would you mind stepping out of the car?" - "I can do.. but you should probably speak to him [pointing at me]" - "why?" - "because he's driving." Classic. And I got a producer for the tail light.
