Economy Scorpio :)

I'm currently using the 2.3 Estate I bought off Scorpioman as my daily driver.

Its fitted with lpg so is very economical (for a Scorpio)

While changing the rear shocks the other week I decided to fit a diesel diff to it so it would run at lower revs for the same speed compared to the stock diff.

new diesel diff is a 3.36, old 2.3 diff was 3.91

As expected the revs sit about 10% lower than normal for the same speed which should help my fuel consumption as the car only really does long motorway trips, very few around town trips.

with the old diff is showed 3000 rpm when the speedo read 80 (actual speed 72)

now it shows 2700 (actual speed 72)

I've also fitted the 24v (3.64 diff) drive pinion for the speed sensor which now has the speedo reading almost true speed.

I'm still monitoring the fuel consumption but i reckon it should give me an extra 10% at least on long runs.

On the downside it will probably be the slowest Scorpio away from the lights ever! Smiley

ROFL

now you're showing your tight side now!

lpg is only 54p! someone on another forum posted about the price of petrol. i thought now that my car uses the stuff, i'd better find out how much it costs. never really looked before, even when filling up the wife's honda civic. i just fill it and pay.

anyway, 94.9p! Shocked give me back my car! Grin

the guy was saying it's went up by about 4p in the last 3 weeks. soon be a £1 again. Angry

only good thing, the mondeo is still doing 31 mpg. that's on short journeys mainly. Smiley i've only done 400 miles since buying it.
