do all ultimas have a small black shieild (badge) saying ultima located on the gearstick panel, just below the ashtray?
is this another way of knowing its an ultima apart from the rear door panel.
im just enquiring because whilst cleaning my beauty i noticed mine had one.

yep they seem to.

Ghia's have the Ghia badge although not all appear to have it

Also an Ultima will have the drivers memory seat switch and the dipping passenger mirror

Could be a Ghia with all the options pack but i didnt think you could get the dipping reversing mirror/memory seats outwith Ultima Spec (possibly added later by an owner)?

And I have no physical evidence of mine being an Ultima anywhere, no badge no logo, nothing. But I can't name any Ultima option my car hasn't got. Were all 24V's Ultimas, hence no logos? Also, never saw a scorp-ad in Germany ever mentioning other trim levels than Ghia, yet they were generously equipped.

When I bought a beemer 7 or so years ago, there were quite a lot of badge options you could add for no charge.
