spot on there gozz

the auto box was a spare auto i had when the 24v was still an auto, was a good box and yeah it was pretty easy to strip tbh,

the reason i stripped it was that it was raining out side and i was bored  Grin, oh i also needed the little wiring connector for the manual  Tongue

they hold a lot more oil then you think, you could have it draining over night and still get covered in the stuff

Well done Matt. Excellent photos.

Really great to view the parts that we don't ever normally get to see. Very educational too.

Funny that because I stripped mine from the 2ltr car a few months back, i'll agree as to how easy it is, putting it back though? Hmmmm
There was nowt wrong with mine but I needed rid so I stripped every bit of iron out of it and scrapped the ally, same with the engine although I kept the cylinder head complete so if anybody wants one give us a nudge...
I only thought of taking pics after I'd finnished the job but I enjoyed the stripdown.

Brilliant engineering though inside them it makes you wonder how they can design it and make it all work.... a very worthwhile exersize I thought, but then I allways did like stripping things down and examining the workings.  Cheesy

yeah the hydraulic maze is something to see but then again a computer would have designed that

re assembling one i think would be just as easy tbh, only hard part i can think of is clipping the 2 brake bands back togetherHuh  perhaps on a gear box with sprocket wear it might be a bit harder to remesh them.

funny though that the actual bits that do all the gearing are rather small out the case weigh a lot less to  Tongue
