Looks like it. According to the folder full of info I got with it the first two owners had it around ten years each and then its been passed on three times in the last 6 months, last owner paid £200 for it a week ago and it broke down (clutch) on the way home and he just wanted to move it on. Previous owner wasnt sure what was wrong and didnt want to spend any money on it. Pity though I was just wanting the bits off it

Even more good luck! My initial failed clutch diagnosis turns out only to be a broken clutch cable! The inner cable was still ok, the outer casing had collapsed making it appear that the clutch was the fault, never seen that before... I grudge paying £12 for a clutch cable when I only paid £200 for the car though!!

New clutch cable installed and car running perfectly!! Was a bit wary upon trying the clutch initially in case it was slipping but its fine Coachworks next to my work are going to do a cheap job on my drivers door too!! right I'm off to put my lottery numbers on!!

The slowest Scorpio project ever moved slightly forward last night 3.92 ratio 7" rear limited slip differential from a 2 litre Sierra XR4x4 fitted to the early type Scorpio rear subframe surprisingly easily in place of the standard 7.5" diff As the 7" Sierra diff only comes with 100mm drive pinions and the LSD versions are shorter anyway I have had to use the original drive pinions and just replaced the 108mm driveshafts (car was a diesel) with 100mm ones from a 16v Scorpio. Just for info, the 100mm driveshafts from the 16v's are interchangeable with the 108mm driveshafts from the V6 and diesel, same lengths and spline fitting. Also the shafts themselves seem the same size, I always thought the 108mm shafts were a wider diameter but they look identical, need to get the calipers out to verify that though

OOOOOOH, If theres a spare pair of 108mm's going, stick 'em in my bits box (I've no spare rear shafts for me spares crate) Have you got a 3.92 front yet ? I've only got 2, but if you're stuck you can borrow my "spare" and replace it when one comes along at sensible money !! I've got my eye out for you, but the 3rd one I thought I was gonna get, guy asked 200 quid for, needless to say he's stil got it LOLOLOLOL Cheers Dave

I've put away two pairs of shafts for you Dave Did the diff flanges arrive yet? I fitted another two 108's onto this 3.91 diff for you. Not got a front diff for this one yet but still looking, no rush though, its taken me two years to get to this stage so I probably won't need it for another couple of years
