Christmas trees

I went down to homebase and B&Q to have a look at the christmas trees, and they had them on offer at half price. Now they say that the original price was £129 for a 6ft tree, and there tree has gone down to £59.99. Well i don't know much about the price of an artificial christmas trees, But £129, i would never pay that, and i really don't think that would be the RRP, I think they are conning people into thinking that they are getting a bargain. Anyway i went over to TJ Hughes and they had one there advertising it for £59.99 and seeling for half price @ £29.99. Now i think that was a bargain. Plus it was a more bushyer tree than the one's in homebase and B&Q. ( skinny things they were ) ...... Anyway thats my moan for the day......

£129 WTF . Up until last year i was working on a tree felling contract between Lichfield & Burton upon trent felling roadside trees. Around this time of year i used to earn a little extra xmas cash felling Christmas trees for a local grower. My rate.....£3 per tree ( & thats quite a good rate actually ). Processing costs cant be any more than a tenner, so thats £116 profit !!!...Well at least someone is having a merry christmas

Well I live in NW Scotland, so If I just charge you £1.00 per mile, that'll be 350quid to get it to the Scotland / England border then !!

Yeah, the old 1/2 price con - chances of them selling at the alleged real price - nil, unless the customer is a total wally. Then when the 'sale' starts they 1/2 the price again so it's now 75% off ! Bargain you think ? They are still making a profit, believe me. Just like those TV ads for the 1/2 price sofas - permanently on sale. Another con, not worth the 'full' price in the first place. Well that's my 2 cents
