I had that and more yesterday morning in West Sussex! I valiantly tried to get to work but an automatic, Scorpio Estate is not the ideal vehicle for the job. Even with a whole load of ballast in the rear I just couldn't get any grip 5 mins to drive a 1/3 mile and then about 2 hrs of digging to get it turned around and back home. Once it finally got stuck it was a case of dig the wheels clear. move 5 or so yards and then start again!! Not fun.
Car is now back on the drive and I am now in the process of digging it out again, as it snowed more since it got back. My employers would really like to see me make an appearance. Cars are driving by my house but I just cannot get up and off the drive.

Oh what fun!

Hello All,
My 2.3 Auto Ultima is, without doubt, the worst car I have driven on snow/ice!
I have narrow gates and a narrow road to contend with and I need two bites at getting the car onto my 'drive'; it got stuck on the camber of the road and I had to be pushed out if this embarrasing situation by a helpful neighbour.
Wide tyres don't help I suppose.
All the best for the New Year.

Not had much snow here, about 2 inches, but the back streets are compacted down and it's like a skating rink. But the main steets are ok. we seem to miss out on the bad stuff around Wellingborough...........

Tuesday was about 8-9 inches, but it takes more than a few inches of snow to keep me in,
so a few mins with a shovel & went to work.

25 mile drive each way, I was suprised how well the car actually did in the snow.  Grin

Have been battling with the snow all week ! Angry. Im having the same problem as crash  Roll Eyes Absolutly NO traction at all. All it takes to light the wheels up is me resting my foot on the throttle pedal. I've even turned the traction control off as im getting fed up with it throwing my right foot off the pedal.  Wink. Anyway it makes a change to go to work looking out of the drivers window instead of the screen  Grin Grin Grin

Quite the opposite for myself. I have passed a few BMW  Angry  and Mercs getting stranded.
I don't know if my 18" tyres (reduce PSI as well) are helping but, my Cossie does seem to out perform others.
I use the Auto winter mode and 1st to start off.
I keep the traction on as it does help under these circumstances. Throttle control is vital.
It can't be my driving skills.  Roll Eyes  My misspent youth involved plenty of Go-Kart racing  Wink  I just love rear wheel powerslides  Grin  Hence, buying a Cossie Scorp in the first place.
I also have a pair of cheap rubber mats in the boot and use them if needed.
I have also noticed less rear end "slap" with less fuel in the tank.
These Scorps are not made for the snow but it is great fun sliding the rear end around  Shocked
In a couple of weeks the roads will be back to normal, but happy to stick by my rear end happy Cossie when the going gets rough.

You can see Scorp in the background, can't get it out!   Since 18th December.   I'm middle of nowhere in Scots Highlands.   I've dug the drive five times since Xmas day, and can only just get the Gals wee car out!   One has to watch about leaving cars on the road up here, the Ploughs will just bash into them!   At least the Gal and our wee cats are in the warm!

They're only 14 months old with a bit of growing to go yet!   The one on the right is a cross bread accident with a Maine-Coon Dad, the other one is his litter mate that has the same markings but has smooth hair.   They're very funny and good to watch when they're play fighting!   We hope they live as long as our last cats at 17 years.

We have two cats, both females. One is left from a pair of ginger twins we had (the other became road kill unfortunately back in 2007) and she is about 14 now and we also have a 6 month old black kitten who drives the older cat to distraction!! Chases her all over the house and the only respite she gets is when she gets outside because the young cat won't venture past the door for more than a minute!
