i know this might be a stupid question but what the best scorpio to buy , the 2.9 cosworth or a 2.3 bob? and i mean whats best in regards getting parts(as you can bet your bottom dollar your gonna need something somewhere down the line!!) , ive had a cosworth and really loved it and miss it BIG time but found getting bits a bit of a nightmare , ive now got my eye on a 2.3 . i know they are getting older and older , but are the 2.3s easier to get parts for , cheers, rich

I've only been here a little while, but I thought the 2.9 was the 'bob' engine?   I have a 2.3 Ultima, and it has just about the right power for my liking.   Mind you I'm a Biker, with a few Bikes new and old, so I get my buzz on Bikes.   I recently had a wee shotty of a 2.9 Cossie, and it was fantastic!   If I went for another Scorpio, I'd be thinking 2.9 just for the fun of the power delivery.   But 'horses for courses' and all that, you'll easy loose your licence with a Cossie, and I suppose with a 2.3.   I think you have to look for a Scorpio as an overall prospect.   Don't be 'dead-set' on any model and take your time to find the one that you really like, it took me about a year to get my car and as I've said on this forum before, the best thing I did was join this forum and carefully listen to the people that have real knowledge about the model, including mentioning anything that comes up on the internet for the forums comments.   I bought mine from an internet advert.

Rich.
Why don't you nip down to the West Country and buy that 12v from Stuarte ?
Without a doubt that old Cologne lump is the most reliable of all and less complex than all the other multivalvers,as are the electronics and autobox.I,m sorely tempted myself even though there are nine of the bloody things here already Wink
