i was walking back to my car in a car park when i noticed a rover 25 pulling in , and yep she chose to park next to me , as she pulled in i said to my son she aint judged that right , and lo and behold she hadnt , and wallop she scraped right down the side from rear wheel arch , along the rear door !!! i just stood there opened mouthed for about 10 seconds and then shouted (couldnt possibly repeat on here ) she then backed out and said and i quote"oops sorry" luckily enough the damage was only a long black scuff and no dent , ive managed to t-cut it out but what really annoyed me was the fact she decided to park right next to mine when there was a completely empty row of about 15 bays in the next row .......... i asked her why she chose to park there and she just said , i dont know !!!! is it any wonder women drivers get a bad press??

Maybe if she had a big car, she would have crashed it before she got to the car park..... Although survey's say that women drivers are safer............

| The thing is, the bigger car you have, the better you learn how to park. I saw once a Punto trying to parallel park for 5 minutes or so - and gave up. The next car to try was an S-class. The guy parallel parked it without turning his head.

| Actually, women are involved in more accidents BUT the total cost for accidents (and personal injury) for men is higher. Most of the accidents women are involved in are low speed bumps/scrapes just like the one you've described but when men crash it's generally at a higher speed - when we crash we do it properly! The causes for crashes involving women is lack of situational awareness whereas with men it's excessive speed or not driving to the road conditions (i.e. over confidence).

. In everybody's life there is a leveler - a pride destroyer! And in my case it goes under the name of Citroen AX, 954cc's of French revenge for Waterloo . It works this way: looking for a place to park I espy a space big enough to fit a short lorry into. "Easy . Then it all goes wron. Foiled by the magnifying effect of the wing mirrors, the normal vision of the interior and the miserley steering lock I make the most awfull mess of it all. Sometimes giving up and resorting to the nearest Airfield . Scorpios, Lorrys, Busses, Coaches. 8" Howitsers on a limber, Tractors and trailers on rough terrain etc. No problem. Citroen AX? No Pride Mike

For as long as I can remembe I have allways used my mirrors for parking, whe possibel that is as sometimes mirrors are limited in their field of vision. I can still remember way back when a lorry firm I drove for introduced "close visiion mirrors". I hated them and still do. I find that switching ones prespective from normal vision to close vision as when glancing in ones wing mirror/s gives a false and confusing message to my poor single cell brain which struggles to cope. Yet other people don't have any problem at all. Ah well. I have struggled with the wing mirrors on my beloved AX (seriousley I love that little car) so I will treat her to replacement wing mirrors..........soon.
