Sorry Stuart. This one went the rounds many moons ago, it's definitely not the crossing to Orkney or Shetland. I've been on both crossings, and the staff wear completely different uniforms. It is the P&O ship Pacific Sun, between Australia and New Zealand, a notorious poor crossing I'm told by relatives that live in the Antipodes. Besides, all the furniture is bolted to the floor of the Pentland boats, and there are hand-hold all round the inside and outside, because the seas are always rough and the ferry companies have brains. Aha, I did wonder! Perhaps if he'd said from Largs to Arran, or the 'Maid of the Loch'.
