Blimey, I feel old..I saw maiden back in 82, saw the Scorpions then too. First ever gig was Black Sabbath, Free Trade Hall Manchester January 1971, with Curved Air in support cost me 16/- to get in, I was skint for a month, saw Deep Purple, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, Genesis, Family etc. all in the same year. On a further Sabbath gig in Manchester, they were supported by Van Halen I also saw Golden Earring (radar Love) supported by Lynyrd Skynyrd (classic original proper lineup). Ay, them were't days though-but, you could go out with 10 bob, see a band, get 'ome on't tram and 'ave a fish supper and have change!
