Daniel..... Don't change the front. I think it looks brilliant. I would have been tempted (for a nonosecond) to flog my S Class and buy it!!! Seriously though, I personally have never really been keen on the pre-facelift Scorpio and having owned a load of S Reg Facelift 24v's over the years I always liked the later look.... Yours take the facelift to the next level

Careful! Nuts and bolts are measured 'across flats' and that is the spanner size required. But the thread size is much smaller: for these nuts on the inlet manifold cover that we are considering here, they are 10mm A/F, which is an M6 bolt (or in this case, a stud). So don't go and buy a handful of M10 nuts. I think it would be immediately obvious you had the wrong size if you did...as these are 17mm A/F. It's all written down and fixed and ever more shall be so. If you need to look the sizes up, get yourself a set of Zeus tables, a little pocket sized booklet full of wonderful engineering wonderfulness. Or go mad and invest in Machinery's Handbook...haha if it's still published....oh and don't forget we had it sorted here in Blighty with a perfectly functioning imperial set of standards using 1/16ths - 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8 and so on (as you will see in your socket set) and this was fine until we lost it completely and went metric. Then the trouble started. See where my signature tag below comes from? Don't get me started......

Yes, you are quite right, but don't refer to them as 10mm - that's only the spanner (A/F) size. It's M6 nuts you need, and I would try and get stainless steel if you can. Or if you really want to go mad, see if you can get titanium ones. The key to my Nissan 300ZX is titanium. So that's good then, innit Oh and by the way, got me a tube of Autosol today.....

I meant of course 10mm A/F (across flats), that'd be 6mm thread then.

Nice one Jeff for getting your Autosol good luck with it mate (got your wire wool?) Let me know how you get on. I took some photos before and after so you can see the real difference if youve got a camera that is I might try some titanium ones but if they are too much i will just get stainless. Dan
