Drove to Alps in a 5 series touring - killed the back after about an hour. Glad to get back to the Scorp. Worried as we'll be doing same again soon Brother & I test drove an A6 prior to him going for the BMW - given we'd driven there in the Scorp we'd both had enough of the A6's seats after 5 mins - and the dash just felt tacky and looked cheap.

3 series is more like a more premium Mondeo with the added benefit of RWD (sticking with RWD chassis is the one thing that BMW get right IMO), Scorpio is more on a par with higher end 5 series or 7 series I always felt, even if not technically - the ride, comfort, equipment level etc. is there. A bit like the Rover 75/MG ZT, I know quite a few people who went from Scorpio/Omega etc to those (I was one of them, owned a couple). 75 wasn't a bad little car, but again more of a step up from the average Mondeo/Vectra, not luxury performance saloon stuff like a 24v Scorpio, definitely not a high end car. I chucked my last MG ZT in for a new shape Jag XKR coupe, much happier now Bruce.
