I bought a new HP Compaq pc, with Vista business, While trying to transfer data from my old pc. (using Transfer cable ) my lad put the installation disk in the new pc, in desperation trying to make it work! unfortunately this seemed to set the new pc as old pc! in data transfer program, so not able to transfer data as both pc.s are referred to as old p.c! What i would like help with, (if there is no other way!) is to know if the best idea is start again, (as there is nothing much yet on the new pc,) is how or if to reinstall the driver discs i have,= HP restore,(first) ? followed by Operating system DVD, 1 of 2. then DVD 2 of 2! i would be very gratefull for any advice please on how to do this, never done it before! is it difficult? Cheers Bob

What data do you want to transfer? Just documents, pics, music etc? If so buy a cheap USB pen drive and put all the old files on that then transfer them to the new pc.
