Just clocked in to say hello   Grin

Blimey !...not much going on around here anymore is there ?

Either Scorpios are getting really rare nowadays, or all owners have no problems.....I reckon the former is the case  Wink

Saab 9-5 is still going after 2 1/2 years...only major problem was autobox valve/solenoid body needed replacing after 138,000 miles. New part was £350  Shocked...but luckily, due to the knowledge & bravery I have gained from this site, it was not too difficult to replace myself (& save £500 labour quoted by local autobox specialist)  Smiley

The Saab still isn't a Scorpio though & I still miss my old girl   Cry

If only Ford had carried on making the Scorpio & improved it........Instead, all we get from Ford, as their top of the range car, is the Mondeo (yawn).
I sat in a brand new Mondeo the other day & the seats were like they've always been since the first Mondeo, hard & uncomfortable...a bit like a garden bench  Huh

Why don't Ford make seats with sofa comfort anymore ?....my Saab 9-5 has resonably soft & comfy seats & many other car manufacturers do the comfy seat deal, but not Ford for some reason....why is this ?

To be honest, I'm completely converted & can safely say that, unless Ford make another comfy car that can compare to the Scorpio, then I will never buy another Ford again for as long as I live  Tongue

Hi JC. Good to see you pop up!. Yes you are right in that the site is very quiet these days. Locally Paul (Pegasus) still has his lovely Cosworth running. Dave (Tompion) had his black Scorp written off by a lame brain youth in Bromley BUT has now aquired a Silver 2.3 estate which he had some work done on and is now using. My silver Estate is still going strong after a few jobs and more £'s!.

Hope you and yours are well and you are still avoiding Golf Clubs! Grin

Hi JC,
Like you, I was a long time Ford chap but with no more offerrings of the Granada / Scorpio quality I doubt I will ever buy another modern Ford - the Mondeo just has no appeal to me. I still have my Sierra and my daily is the Jeep Grand Cherokee - just had all the wheels powder coated & a new set of tyres, only has 70k on the clock now which is quite low for a 15yo car.
Do you still have your Jeep ?
Mike.

Sierra XR4i's are great...especially when fitted with 4WD Smiley

Good to hear from you guys & nice to see I'm not some distant memory..."err, who's this Jonnycab bloke...the name rings a bell, but can't think from where"   Grin

Still got the Jeep & it's still going strong with 104K on the clock now....& such lovely comfy seats  Wink

Sorry for waking you early Dave (Snoopy)....do you have an alarm on your computer nowadays that goes off when someone posts something ?...only joking   Grin

Mike (Simmo), I'm wondering what ever happened to our old silver estate ?  I'm sure it must still be on the road because it was a good car. Wouldn't it be strange if Dave's (Tompion) new estate was our old one  Smiley

Keep well guys & all the best,  Jon

Edit.......just checked DVLA & it appears that our old silver estate is no longer registered. Either written off or scrapped I suppose. That's one less Scorpio on the road  Sad

I too miss the every day use of Scorio, still got my old mk 1 2.9 tucked away for posterity. The nearest I could find to give me any degree of pleasure as a taxi was a Rover 75 connoisseur. But to upgrade both cabs I have had to resort to Mercedes Benz. One estate e220 amg and one e220 avante garde .Both recently had 50000 services and perform well. Too me they still don't have the Kudos of the Scorps.
