Hi Guys
I am a deep rooted Jag man but as my good wife (affectionately known as head office) does frequent craft fairs we were struggling to get it all in the  Jag.

So what better? We bought a 1997 2.3 16v Hearse (or Cardinal ).

Ok it has more issues than a daily paper but one by one I am trying to cross items off my list.
I know my way around a set of spanners and a hammer so hopefully 99.9% I will be able to do.

First Job, after fitting some decent ICE, was to connect my OBD2. To my surprise all connected nicely.... read codes and reported no errors  ... Roll Eyes YEAH RIGHT!!!!....it miss fires---holds back-- changes gear when it feels like it (albeit smoothly) and displays all manner of other  misbehavior ..oh well all part of the fun I guess.
Next will be finding a scanner that works...I rather fancy one of the stand alone units but it seems they might not all work so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Looks sleek and sexy though and I have made a ' no ghouls are left in the vehicle overnight' sign for the window.

Not close to a jag but hopefully with care (and some help from you guys) I will learn to love it as much.

Hi John

If you have a laptop to connect to a cheap ELM327 with free Forscan software works well:

Chances are you won't have codes for the faults you mention as they may be wiring issues.

Hiya Dave
Thanks for that.
Yeah that's the one that I have (ELM327) it connects a treat but the live readings are all over the place and I REALLY don't believe I don't have any error codes.!
Works dandy on the Jag.
