My nearside rear driveshaft has come to bits! I was wondering if the combined brains of the forum could tell me if the 2.5td matches any of the petrol models.. or where I could get a secondhand complete driveshaft (fmd wants £487 +vat)!! Thanks all.

Thanks Martin The s/h shaft is now on and all is well-just for reference I have had an intermittent knock from the back end of the car for around six months now-so this may serve as a warning to anyone with similar symptoms. The splines on the end of the shaft had worn away and eventually completely they completely stripped-as there is no drive to one wheel then the diff cuts all power to the other wheel-therefore the vehicle goes nowhere!! Not good on a rainy evening halfway down a bypass.. Thanks again to Martin who saved the day with the exact part for a great price and very knowledgeable advice! Cheers bud!!! PS this forum is a lifesaver for us scorpio owners
