Hi,

I live close to Haywards Heath and could do with getting a read out of the DTC's in my 24v before I'm on the road again next week.

Anybody with a cable/reader live close?

Martin,
If Tony can meet with an owner who has an OBD lead his car can have the system checked for any Diagnostic Trouble Codes for nothing.

I'm sure there's a Surrey owner.

Just to add the real problem is I suspect there are multiple problems so need more than just an initial diagnosis.

I've ordered a couple of the ELM320 PCM chips and once they arrive (if ever as the ElmElectronics site is poor on address handling) I'll build a protocol converter into the car.

In the meantime watching symptoms (like the fuel economy switch between 22mpg and 28mpg) is frustrating knowing there are possible clues in the DTC's.

It's like this morning I set off on the M23 and was seeing instant mpg ranging from 22-32, then after clearing the M25 only see 16-22 for the M40, switching back on the A45 to 22-32. I'm pretty sure this is a failing lambda sensor(s) causing one or both banks to operate interminantly open loop. Above mpg is for 85mph cruise over 20 miles in each case.

Hi,

i live near that area ( Westerham ) and i have used a very very good diagnostic tuner by the name of Tony Grevvit. He is part of Home-Tune.

He has tuned my previous capri's, Ford Probes and Granadas. In terms of the granada, he needed to fit a new temp sensor, but had none. he said he would come back last that week to fit it. anyway, 9:30 pm at night and he called saying he found one in his van, and promptly fitted it at 9:30 in the dark. Thats service!

I can highly recomend him. you can look him up in the yellow pages, or if not, give me a shout back and ill forward his number.

ian.
