sounds very much like a wheel bearing to me. if it gets louder when going round a r/bout and it is comming from the o/s/f then it is the bearing. Thats my guess

expect around 2 hrs labour plus parts. Dunno how much  parts are soz. tricky to do at home as they  need to be pressed in to ensure a perfect fit, unless u have access to a press.

 Cheers Nick

PS get it done asap as  they can collapse. It has happened to me Shocked

I've got the same problem as well. Bought the bearing yesterday (£64 from our local motor factor) and it's huge!!!! I would suggest that this is not a job to be done in the driveway unless you have a press to get the old bearing out and the new one in. I'm heading up to my friend's garage next week to fix it. If I can, I'll take photo's and try to do a write up on the job.

Job now done. decided that it couldn't wait until next week so went up today. As I suspected, not a job for the driveway. easy enough to get the hub off but what a job to get the bearing out!!!!!!! Thank goodness for complete garage facilities and thanks to my mate who helped a lot (he's not a bad old mechanic and is learning more and more about Scorpios). Unfortunately the camera decided to pack up so no photos but I will attempt a write up on it soon. (Main tool required.....2 1/2 lb hammer!!!!!).
