took the car out today and noticed that the speedo needle was not moving and i was creeping along in slow moving traffic the needle then moved to 10MPH and as i picked speed up maybe doing more than 30MPH the needle showed 20MPH as speed increased the needle seemed to lag.The car is a 20l 16v manual. Any ideas where to start looking Many thanks

Try looking at the VSS on the side of the gear box that is wher the sppedo gets the info from so I would start there.. may just be dirty contacts but the VSS does fail and they are about £30 if I remember correctly Cheers Snoopy

thanks for that Snoopy have been out in the car again and have noticed that the airbag light started to flash for the first couple of miles and then stayed off don't know if this is anything to do with it,with the electrics on this car.I had an air bag module unit replaced last year so don't think it's that but as it's all dash related can't help thinking big problems. Thanks again Darren
