Hi Ren. Are we talking horrible rattly noises or an exhaust type roar noise? You know, like a hole in the system? Paul

does it make the noise under load? ie when accelerating then backs off when u ease off the throttle? If so i would say its the bottom end. Had this problem on a car of mine. Cheers Nick

A probable cause is the cats internal plates braking up. It can sound very much like something major. so dont dispear., Drop it into a exhaust centre get it up on the ramps and give the engine a rev whilst someone underneath listens to it. My nearside cat has been doing it for about 10 months now, it still past its mot but only just.

ren when you say noise, would you describe it as 'more raucous'? rather than big end knocking type of noise?
