Replaced Plugs, now firing on 3!?

First post, so a big hello to everyone Some of you may remember Frank Brennan? if so, i am posting on behalf of him. He has a 2L Executive model. Car was running fine thismorning, about 2 hours ago I start replacing the plugs. Got NGK type R (Not cheap @ £40!) Screws were a pain to take out! took me half an hour to take one out Ok, so I get the new plugs in everything back together, turn the key and it dosent fire for the first 3 times, until eventually it fires up, but im jumping round everywhere! and it wasnt sounding right I concluded that I we only running on 3 cylnders I try swapping the 2 big black things (ontop of the plugs) and the yellow sockets. But i figured I may have got this completely wrong, and put them back the wrong way round. Dose anyone have a picture of the 2L engine with the spark plug cover off? or can anyone advise me on what to do? any help appreciated. BTW: lasy year, i was only running on 3 so the looms were replaced (Cost a bomb) because they were melted, they seem to be fine now. So if i arranged the sockets that go over the plugs in the wrong way, will this be causing my problem? Thanks.

Hi, Just had to replace plugs, coils and leads on mine. The lead that comes of coil on top of plug 4 goes to plug 1 and the lead that comes of coil on top of plug 2 goes to plug 3. Thats how mine is and she runs fine. Chris...

You dont have to remove coil packs to correct. Remove both HT leads and plug extensions from each coil pack. Reconnect, with short HT lead coming from Front coil pack to number 3 plug. And Long HT lead from rear coil pack to number 1 plug. eddie
