Creaking from right front suspension

Hi,

My 80k 2.3 has developed a squeaky creak coming from the right front suspension. It happens when going over anything that causes the roadwheel to move up and down (ie. from a gentle ripple to a quick pot-hole).

I get a similar sort of noise when turning the steering wheel to the right at very low speeds (eg parking).

I don't really want to have to start replacing all the possible bits one at a time so any ideas would be very welcome. Especially as I'm a private hire driver and do not need this sort of noise in an otherwise lovely car.

Thanks

Sounds like a dry rubber bush to me.. thats where I would look.... but failing that get someone to turn the wheel whiles its stationary and see if you can 'feel' where its coming from or hear it when close up......

But rubber bushes is where I would start...
Others might have better ideas

Cheers

Thanks Snoopy,

It looks as if it's the anti-roll bar bush.

At the weekend I plan to get underneath and detach the bar at the bushes and see if the noise stops.

If it is the bush(es), can I refurbish/lubricate them or should I just replace them?

Thanks again

Anti-roll bar bushes? Might as well just replace them. They're only a couple of quid.

I had exactly the same problem on my 95 TD. The problem was worse when driving slowly over speed humps.
After changing most of the likely things on the RHS suspension, I eventually found the cause of the noise to be the small balljoint at the end of the trackrod (not the trackrod end, but the joint within the steering rack gaiter).

I removed the rubber gaiter and applied a small amount of grease to the ball joint and the problem was cured).

Mine makes a sort of "squishy" sound when i go over even a minor bump. I guess that's the same thing?
