24v head gasket(s) - update

Can anyone help with recent info on the likely cost of head gasket replacement (and any other likely problems best fixed at the same time) at both a Ford workshop and comptetent local garage? My 1995 140,000 miler has been provisionally diagnosed as a headcase and I'll get the full report in the week. May have some hard decisions to make... Chris OK... the sudden eagerness to 'burn' water seems to have turned out to be (under pressure test) a rad leak. That fixed - with a new rad - there's no apparent water loss now, though the workshop has cautioned me that there is a gas presence in the water, suggesting gasket failure! The answer to the original question posed is "£600 to £800 dependant on parts" plus vat. I'll keep on driving the beast. Chris
