Just a note: - that to close all windows globally you have to hold the key in the locked position for a couple of seconds then keep it there until all windows are shut (providing that your model has this option fitted). Also I'm sure that it doesn't work from the remote.

just to clarify what philgood has said,he is absolutely right with the locking with the key,but (as several of us members know and have Wink),there is a fantastic "gizmo" availiable from the electrical genuis know as steve collister which operates the global closing/opening/lock-on-go/and makes the alarm beep all from the remote...
and yes it a fantastic bit of kit.. Grin Grin Grin

I saw the remote global/closing in action on your car at WSM Craig - gotta have one  Grin Grin Grin

I've now replaced the control modules in my front doors with ones from a slightly newer car and so have global opening/closing from the key at long last  Smiley

Time to think about getting the mod. From what I remember last time, Steve C waited until there were a few members wanting the mod so he could build a batch. Time to start the ball rolling I think... Do you have contact details?

Anyway, back to the original post. If your car is an early one (mine was built in Dec '94) the you can just get hold of global/opening closing modules from a later car and put them in yours. Lookout for someone breaking a Scorp with bits to sell but check part numbers - there are 3 different driver's door modules for instance.

Cheers,
Dave

right then guys, firstly have a read of this,it is the original thread that several of us ordered the boxes from, gives you most of the details....

http://forum.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Problems;actio n=display;num=1080522044;start=0

the box in question basically does this :
when locking the car with the remote,it operates the global closing (shutting all windows and sunroff if open),if you unlock then lock then unlock the car again,it operates the global opening (all the windows and sunroof now open),also the alarm will now beep, and indicators flash on all the locking, not just the double locking, and as an added bonus, when you reach approx. 20 MPH,the central locking locks all the doors...
very cool indeed Cool Cool Cool Cool

anyway steves details are as follows..

thestylecouncillor@runbox.com

i would advise that someone restarts the thread, then anybody who is interested can then place an order, this will save a box being made up here there and everywhere,be patient as the boxes take time to assemble, and steve also has work and family commitments as well, the boxes in question are quite simple to fit,and if i remember there are 12 wires to connect, thorough details are given, and they are spot on,so once again please start the thread before contacting steve, this will save a lot of confusion, the boxes if i remember are £65.00 inclusive, and personally i can highly recommend them.................

can also recommend the air-con mod Smiley, boy that thing makes a difference,"brass monkeys" spring to mind Grin Grin

Cheers Craig,

Guess I'll volunteer to start that thread (tomorrow - got to go to work soon  Undecided) and see who else is wanting to give this a go at the moment. Knowing that the doors are properly locked without having to peer through the windows would be good - not to mention all the other features.

The air con mod is also something that I want to do at some point so maybe it's time for that too.
