Gear shift point!

Have now after nearly a year of searching find my dream car, a late production -98 24v panther black metallic estate. I have now driven about 6000km and the car runs very well with smooth gear changes and great bottom end Scorpio Cosworth Power! But the shifting point at full throttle is a bit low, I think?. When I driven Scorpios before I have experienced that the gearbox shifts at the redline, 6200rpm. But mine always hits the new gear before 6000rpm at about 5800rpm. Is this normal? Or is this a indication of some problem that will get worse? It would be interesting to shear experience of what is normal, when dose your gear box make the shift???I haven’t got the OBDII lead with software so I haven’t been able to scan to see if there is any fault codes. But the machine runs god with no indication of fault and normal fuel consumption and so on…. Very pleased with my car and now looking for 17” 7-spoke alloys, anyone selling or know someone selling?

Hiya mattias .. is that with or without O/D ? .. Cossie should change just around the point you describe < bit surprised that you can distinguish 200ish revs at THAT speed ! ha > .. anyway ..why does it change then ? ..well because there is plenty or gear length and power left ..but the limiter is set in this country lower than in some parts of Europe ..as with B.M.W's < spit > .. hth ...regards .STN

It`s with out O/D in the "S" mode. And it`s clear that it shifts befor 6000rpm approx. 5750rpm and that the other car I drove changed after 6000 approx. at the redline. So It can be a softwear thing to lower the top speed/top rpm limit?
