Hello there. I contact my main dealer to quote me for a set of headgaskets for my 2.5 TD Ghia Estate Rreg and they ask me which one I need as they do supply three sets for the same car! I had to choose either for 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6 for the right fitness on the engnine as he said. Also he mention something for a V..serial number? I have no idea what he was talking about. I just need to buy a complete set of headgaskets to replace them! That's all! Any idea? Your help would be very gratefull! Best Regards

| Was he asking for the VIN number maybe? Typing that into the system should tell him when the car was built, etc and therefore what set is needed. Have no idea myself which type they should be I'm afraid.

Hi desyllk ..the " v" that he was talking about will be the amount of " v's" or notches in the gasket n the outer edge ..diesel gaskets are different thicknesses depending on whether you skim the head or not ..ie: if your own gasket has say one notch in the outer edge and you don't skim the head ..then you would buy the gasket to match < one notch > ..if the gasket you take off has say three notches ..then it means that it has been skimmed previously and you would then buy the one with three notches .. i'll re-read this in a min in case it sounds gibberish ! ..but I think you will understand ... regards ....STN ps. the 1.4 ..1.5 or 1.6 ..is the millimeter thickness of each notched gasket ..
