power window

urgent help please.Drivers side power window stuck halfway down.When pressing button can hear what sounds like relay working in door.Checked plug to motor,seems connected ok and one of the wires becomes live when up pressed and another live when down pressed.Any ideas 1 does it seem to be the motor at fault?.. 2 how do I get window up again? THANKS

My only thoughts on this one is to take the door trim off and manually close the window and put the motor into closed position and then check out the motor. It may be something as simple as a boken lead but from what you describe it sounds like the motor has seized or burnt out and may need replacing...

Eventualy had to drill out rivets holding motor and actuating arms to door,then could get at screws that fit window to arms , then managed to wedge window up. The problem was a dry solder joint on one of the motor brushes !
