2.5tdi power loss

Hi there,
I've got a 2.5tdi Scorpio which looses power between 2225 rpm and 3500 rpm. She runs smooth and starts fine. She's not smokey, however when you rev her up she does sound rough between the speeds mentioned above. When you accelerate there is no power and doesn't pick up as expected. Although if you press the accelerator gently she does pick up slowly but again there is no power.
So far I have changed the MAF sensors and I am now considering changing the MAP sensor.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

being a tubo,is there any whistling or whining ?

sounds like you may have a problem with possibly the turbo/intercooler or you have a leak somewhere in the system, any other symptoms/signs ?

Hi Craig,
There is no whining or whistling noises from the turbo.
Before the boost finally went, when accelerating the car would pick up and then a single jerk. If it was petrol you would think it was a bad plug or lead that could be causing the problem. This lasted for about an hour or so and then the boost stopped working altogether.

The Turbo should start to kick-in at around 1700 RPM
and by 2200 to 2500, a real kick in the back should be felt.
If you take off the pipe between the Intercooler and the Turbo, you can get your fingers in to turn the turbine.
Is it spinning freely?
Mine doesn't whine, or make any other audible noises but I know it's working!
Has the EGR valve stuck? This can be easily disassembled after removing the heatshield.
Has EGR vacuum pipe or wiring been disturbed on the O/S Front inner wing?
Is the exhaust escaping freely from the tailpipe?
Is the air-cleaner choked?
Has the Diesel fuel filter been changed?
