Hi, Hoping someone can help me out by at least pointing me the right direction so I don't get conned again. Had my 2.9i 12v ultima for nearly two years, been off the road for a yr now, had the head gaskets done twice! (first was con job, cost £700 cash Cry).
Loads of other faults that have cost over 3k to fix.
I am off today to get the timing and a new CPU done that leaves me just my battery problem.
Had a 2nd hand main fuse box put in just after I bought it as the main headlights wouldnt work and when i checked the fuse box was corroded. No drain until 9 mths after replacement, fuse box is dry. Called the RAC out and they managed to trace a drain back to fuses 16 & 17 on the main fuse box but the handbook doesnt say what they for, just says ford dealer only!

Does anyone have any idea what electrical components run off fuses 16 & 17 in the main fusebox plz, so at least when I take it to be fixed I will at least seem to know a little of what I'm saying and maybe this time not get conned.

Sorry if i seem cynical but although I love my car I have been conned bigtime by the people I bought it from and most of the mechanics I have used. Car cost me £2,700 and a further 3K in repairs  Embarassed

many thx

I checked here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/temp.htm on the main site and you are right, it just says "Electronics" a 7.5amp fuse.

Maybe someone more knowledgable may have come across them and know exactly what they cover.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Regards

Sorry all the main site says is electronics, and you've just said that.

You could try dissconnecting the engine management to see if the drain is still present. consideering it is electronics they are talking about.
