my scorp dosent seem to be switching the choke on any one any ideas how to fix it

i have cleaned the maf as discribed on the site the car will not idle when cold and when warm if you switch the ac on the rpm drops and does not compensate i have also cleaned the idle valve could it be this that is at fault

Thank you Scorpio_man. I think you've hit the nail on the head for my problem. My Scorp 2.0L 16v M plate is having poor idle at the moment. After changing the usual suspect, spark plugs and HT leads. I noticed a poor conditioned wiring loom (i.e. bare wire) connected to the top of two of the spark plugs. I hope this fixes the problem. either way it needs changing. Thank you once again.
