Aircon mods

I've read the section all about the Scorpio aircon, and I'm particularly interested in the modification to the de-ice switch circuitry that fools the aircon into producing even cooler air. I don't have a Scorpio, but the system on my Granada is almost identical in this area and the air output is not cold enough. The compressor cycles in/out but the "cold" air is still getting no lower than about 7 degrees Celsius. I'd like to try a variation of the modification described, connecting an additional resistor to the thermistor wires, but I have one small query: Do I wire the additional resistor in series with the thermistor probe (i.e. break one of the wires and bridge the gap with a resistor) or do I wire it in parallel? Thanks Roy Beasley

i did this on my scorpio rather than go for full mod ,if i remember correctly it is in series ,i used some longer cable so that i could change values of resistor easier if i wasnt happy ie resistor now lies under bonnet as opposed to messing about near switch
