Folding Wing Mirrors

Just wondering, should the wing mirrors be capable of folding in when parking or squeezing through tight spots or for whatever reason? I have tried moving mine and they don't seem to want to budge.

If you hit them hard enough they do detach from the connections! I discovered this while having a quiet summer drink at a nice pub with my car parked in sight. An old couple got into their silver Nova which was parked next to my car and as the old lady got in she swung her door WIDE it clipped the front edge of my drivers door mirror and pushed it towards the back of the car leaving it swinging free. They then just drove off. I found that it is easy to clip back in and it seemed to work just fine.

Now wouldn't that be a cool mod if it could be done? I'd also like to have what my mate has on his 5 series BMW. That also has the tilting mirror on the passenger side, but... it can also do the drivers side too. It depends on which side the mirror control switch is pointing as to which one tilts. If its over on the passenger side, that one tilts. If its over to drivers side, that one goes down instead. But if you want them to just stay 'normal' you leave it set to the central position.
