Just brought a 1995 2.0 16v auto estate.there is a slight misfire below about 3000rpm.checked the fuel cutoff loom and yes there are many bare wires where the insulation has cracked off.is this the cause of my misfire?wife spoke to essex ford today and they said the required loom is no longer available.does anyone have one or know where i can get one ?

Hello! You can always repair the insulation with some insulation tape! I'm well aware it's temporarily but still helps! But it's aklways worth to check spark plugs and their leads! Best regs, OHC

OHC, Yes, it almost certainly is the cause of the misfire - this is very common on the DOHC engines. Try Ford Parts UK - http://www.fordpartsuk.com/, and quote your VRM. Ask for the Fuel Cutoff Loom, Finis 1003462 and they should be able to help you. Don't forget to mention www.scorpio.co.uk. Full price is about £91 - but it should be cheaper than that
