removing the front jobbie

Every night when I arrive home from work and park up the scorp, I make it a habit to remove the front of the 7000 sound system jobbie so that no little light fingered git decides to remove the whole lot for me. BUT just to remove the radio front takes the will power of a saint and the nimble fingers of ...oh I dont know mmm a nimble fingerd person. Any road up, It takes me bleeding ages to remove it. Any tips chaps?

The only trick that I have is to flick the release button and that seems to eject the radio front rather well .. If I do it by moving the button it is as you state a fiddly job to get it out... You could also try warming the plastic clip on the back and carefully bending outwards slightly, but that is very very risky... Opticians have a heat source for doing the frames and the like and thats what they do.......... bend the stuff... but as I state its fraught with danger

You   could  put  a   dab of  tipex   on  the  wee   knobby/clippy   thing  to  help  seeing  it  in the  dark .

It's  putting   the   b****r  IN  that   infuriates  me ,  lost  count  of  the   near   collisions  i've  nearly  caused
while   jiggling  with  it.

Or  you  could  move  to a  more  salubrious and  less  criminal   part  of  the  country and  leave the   bloody   thing  in  place!!

to be honest i don't thing ford radios are that likey to be stolen they looking for the nice radio cd player, tape decks have no real price on the streets ( more drugs for a cd than a radio )

Thanks guys, Snoopy...I might give the little clip bending a go, failing that as you all seem to think I shall leave the frontage in place.
