Hi thanks for advice but if matrix is leaking would I not see a drop in coolant also would it leak into car. I did notice a curry smell when I first bought the car about 5 months back but put it down to the ethnic origin of the Guy I bought it off

Then you probably have a small leak,the matrix is probably blocked as well. If you pull back the carpet under the dash area right behind the centre console,next to the clutch pedal area (if fitted) and check the soundproofing you will possible find a bit of damp. It doesnt take much. Incidentally,when checking water levels,be sure to rock the car so you can see the water sloshing about,dont get fooled by a 'tide' mark!! eddie
