Door Catch removal and refit

Hi
Ive just purchased a new front offside door latch which incorporates the sensor linked to the dash which tells you if your door is open. At present it indicates that my drivers door is open. Has anyone got any advice on the removal of the old unit and the installation of the new unit. Because i believe its a bit of a job.
Any help or pictures, links whatever would be greatfully appreciated

The door lock removal is on the main site which might be of help...
