Wheres a terrible place to break down? Well the main roundabout for gatwick south terminal was this evening. Car felt like it was running on two for about 30 feet, then conked out. Cue help from police and airport staff to get the car moved back down into a layby, then the breakdown people eventually arrived. He eventually got it started, and running really rough, so it went to the local garage on a low loader. I got a call about 45 mins later, engine wiring loom is the culprit - apparrently a fairly common problem on the 2.3 16v engines. Getting a new one fitted tomorrow and it should hopefully work. I hate cars, I really do.

Ouch. Ford quoted 540 quid for the harness, although there was a mention on the site of one costing about 90 quid. No biggie, the mechanic is going to make one up instead, which will cost me about 90 quid - 2ish hours labour.
