Heater Problem

Hey all, My Granada 2.5td 1995 :scorpio has a problem, When i drive around the town the heat is fine and the temp needle is in the center but when i go on a trip it cools down and the needle drops and the car ends up been cold any idea's.. Thanks jamie

HI, You propably have air in the system. When you drive the engine speed (=engine rotates the waterpump) will keep pushing the air bubles circulating around engine, but when you stop and engine is in idle the water slows down and finds the "highest" place. Unfortynaly that´s usualy the heater matrix. Fill the fillertank over max, allmoust up to top. Go to have some highway rews and check if the level has gone down. If yes, then keep filling until everything is OK. (remember to adjust fluid level to max afterwards) Regards, Mmonster
