Had a bit of trouble driving home in hard rain, car was stuttering a bit when asked to accelerate thought it was maybe a damp lead as was ok the next day.
Come to start this evening turns over great but not firing. Have had trouble with key fob having to keep reprogramming and seems like engine cut out is on.
Any ideas please.

An obvious question i know but do you have the fusebox coveron- next to the battery. If not the fusebox fills with water. john.n Tongue

Your Symptoms  are very much like my own and yes it turns out to be the fuse box, thats the one on the battery side and incidently I have always had a battery cover and always been liberal with WD40 around the engine compartment but we can only do so much as preventative the rest is just down to bad design.
The fuse box is £140.00 ish from Fords but I have read on this site that some of the lads strip the old fuse box dry all the parts out reassemble and hey presto problem solved with no financial outlay anyway good luck and keep us informed it is always useful for information in the future.

Finally got it going tonight, sprayed WD40 all over fusebox(didn't look wet) and leads etc. Had to turn it over for ages with foot flat down then miraculously fired into life. Not sure what it was maybe damp or crap in petrol but seems ok now, thanks to those who replied.
