OK who moved the horn?

Seasons Greetings etc.,

I know I am risking a bit of an "Oh err missus" but whereabouts are the horns mounted on the Scorpio  Undecided

I know there are two, I know what they look like (got two new ones to fit) but having spent some time scanning the engine compartment and scratching my head can report that they seem to be invisible. Can't even find any reference on the main site.

Any ideas, pics or diagrams much appreciated.

Geoff,

On my 24v it's underneath at the offside front - gets in the way a bit when putting the under tray back. Guess it doesn't have to be in the same place on all models?

As usual car manufacturers position  the horns  in the
place where  they are most likely to get the worst of
rain , salt and  crud, i.e. under the  front bumper.
Surely  under the bonnet  would be a more  dryer
   environment.

Actually , the horns on the Scorp  are   audibly disappointing ,  I wouldn't mind getting hold of a  set from a US  Auto.

JohnJ,

I suspect thats what happened to mine, anyhow I now get a silly little parp noise. The horns that I am fitting are twin Fiamm electronics a high and a low same as fitted to the Dino.

One thing about the Scorpio is that when you are cruising around a car park looking for spaces at about 4 or 5mph it is very quiet and I regularly get to about 6 feet behind wandering individuals before they realise that I am there.

We shall see if this improves matters.

considering how fast scorpio's can go, the horns are more or less useless.
I am the sort of person who never uses my horns. they only work at MOT test time.
BUT having said that you do need good horns just in case you need them.
Horns are a warning item not a get out of my way item.
I already fitted those twin fiamm electronic horns. They are easy to fit the old horns off and the new horns on.
They are very peircing and shill, i mean very high notes. Just as good as windtones horns that take up so much space.
I got mine off Ebay for less than £10 a set.
I just looked quickly at Ebay but I can see any at this time.
