Ignition fuse keeps blowing....

I own a 2.5td Scorpio which has been going well until recently. The main problem is for some reason when you're driving along it decides to blow the 20A ignition fuse in the main fuse box and kill the car dead. Normally I just replace it and carry on but now as soon as I switch the ignition on it blows the fuse straight away. The battery isn't that old and the charge is good as well as the cells having plenty of water in them. Anyone have any ideas of what might be shorting the fuse out?

could be water in the fusebox shorting it out, a common problem on scorpios. you need to dry the fusebox out before putting another fuse in. paul

Got around the fuse blowing issue - seems someone thought they would try and play electrician and ended up making a hash of things. Now the fuse doesn't blow and I can crank the car over but it won't start. Seems to be a lack of fuel passing through to the injection pump. Anyone have any ideas as to what to try?

from the little I know about the 2.5td it would appear that No 1 injector is the source of the information for the EEC on the car I would be looking at the wiring or the fuse going there first as the source of the trouble..... as the car was running before you found the electrical fault.. it has to be connected (sorry about the pun) in some way. I am sure the TD chaps will be along to help very soon
