Usual Auto box fault

Hi all. Looks like I've got the usual auto box fault. Overdrive light used to flash and no top gear. Tried cleaning the MAF, no result, bought a secondhand one from ebay which turned out to be black inside. Anyway, cleaned it and now no flashing overdrive but still no top gear. If I unplug the MAF I get top gear evrytime no problem, but gear changes are a little bit "Thumpy". If I plug it back in the gear changes are smooth again but no top gear. I think the MAF is partially faulty but I need to know if unplugging it and getting top gear is a definate sign it is b****red. HELP!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year by the way.......

Hi, It does sound like your MAF is at fault, but two faulty MAFs is real bad luck Get some OBD done to be sure Where are you, maybe someone's close that would help
