Time to give up smoking (24v)

Happy new year .. except for my 24v (96 Estate) seems to be suffering:- - Misfires alot (especially light throttle/idle) - Lots of white smoke from the exhaust when misfiring One moment it's ok, next it's stuggling to maintain idle revs. OBD read out shows both upstream HEGO's switching ok, no obvious air leaks and no fault codes! The EGR is disabled. I've stuck a tin of STP F/Injector cleaner in the tank on the basis of sticking injectors (I've been using alot of supermarket fuel) which initially seemed to help but the fault returned this morning. I don't think the smoke is steam, looks and smells more like the engine is running rich (and watching the fuel trims go -25% at one point would seem to confirm). Any ideas welcome! -- [Addition] Taken plugs out and they looked pretty coked. Replaced with old set and problem seems to have gone (it was randon though). Now having thoughts about the wisdom of running the last 25K miles (9 months!) on supermarket fuel (points more than cost). Decoke tomorrow with 10K Power stuff plus a new years resolution to use Optimax or branded fuels for a bit.
