ive got a flashin od light wether its in od or not posted it a few probs back i have 4th gear i might just take the bulb out the instrument panel i did get a guy out with a obd reader but no codes were stored said it might be because the cars battery was disconected for a few months ill get him out again once ive tidied up the engine loom ive run it away from inbetween the cylinders and looks like spagetti junction the only wires runing between the v is the usual sensor and injector wiring could it still be the vss even tho ive 4th,thank you every one for your replies.

Hi Richard, Can't realy help with your problem, but I can tell you that the flashing O/D light is not necessarily an O/D problem. The flashing of the O/D light is a warning from the EECV, that something is not correct with the opperation of the gear box. This could be because of an outside influence such as the MAF (or VSS...... ). You realy need to get some OBD sorted out to find the problem sorce!! HTH

Had the same problem on the old 2.0, cleaned the maf etc, it only happened when it was wet. I checked all the wiring to the box and forund the vss loom was chaffing and the plug was filthy. Re insulated and cleaned out the plug, put in some silicone grease and the problem never happened again. HTH nic
