Hi all I got a remote today for my 2.3 16v ultima (97 r plate) put in new batterys went to program it got the beebs ok but no response from remote any ideas would be helpful thanks roy

oPEN THE REMOTE AND CRAEFULLY take out the gubbins.. There should be a circuit board and a rubber button pad.
Put something like meths on a cltoh , kitchen towel and clean the circuit board.
Clean the back of the rubber button pad.
Clean the contacts on the batt terminals.
Check voltage on batts, i have known new batteries be dead.
re-fit all components together and close remote houseing.
re try to programme,make sure remote is held down by footwell on drivers side next to the accelerator wall,near door when programming.
if this fails remote probably broken ..
