Ok, then the car has been REALLY behaving itself until about an hour ago. I get home turn off the lights and I get the 'bong...bong' noise telling me that i've forgotton to turn something off..Ah....the lights... I switch 'em off but they go from main to dim but that's it, It's sat outside with its parking lights on and they won't go off. I remove the fuses and the lights go out but the facia/instrument light remains as does the 'bonging'...Any idea's...before my battery goes flat!!!

Ok don't take this the wrong way but you have actually switched them off and not went across to the parking light setting? If you turn the switch anticlockwise while pushing at the same time it drops over to the left and puts the parking lights on. Just hoping that this is all it is before people start coming through and waving the no battery cover/wet fuse box red card at you

check the switch quite a common fault i'm afraid, take the switch out and remove the wiring plug, then check the pins and connectors for signs of "blackening",and also that all the pins are lined up correctly with the electrical plugs, any that are not can be corrected carefully with a thingytail stick or similar HTH...... but also as vulcan has mentioned, has the car got the fore-mentioned battery and fuse covers ?
