Drive Shaft Rebuild

After a nice high speed rear bearing failture and alot of smoke last week I finally got around to taering it apart only to discover that the dricshaft was badly scord and would need changing - along with a new disk, abs sensor, hub and hub carrier!! Easy solution I thought - complete replacement rear corner from a local scrapy. On replacing I found that during the period that my 96 car had been produced abd the donor car a revision had been made to the CV joints (in particular, their mounts). Does anybody know whether or not it is possible to remove the complete cv joint from one driveshaft and replace it on the other??
